And if you hear Brantford combined with the word fingerboarding you might know really quick, today we will look at something from Joycult. The last time I had some Joycults in my hand was in 2017. Back then it was a set of Skyrocks. Today we have 2020, so there is a shit load of time between the last Joycult product blog and this one. Matt took many steps of evolution with Joycult and today we will look at some of his latest creations: LITE 3.0 PK 60D

So what to tell you about these wheels?
The shape of the wheels is called the LITE 3.0. The wheels are not as small as 90th wheels but even not as big as bowlwheels. 3.0 is the third and final rendition of the 2017 line. Revamped and cleaned up for 2020. The shapes are to spec, beefier lock system and as always our classic Joycult F3 Formula.
The color is purple/white swirl. Just check out the images and you know what I mean. The color of the wheels looks just like a creamy dream. The shape is clean and sharp like a knife. Well done! A perfectrendition of the previous line.
These wheels are 60D wheels with a single bearing inside. Durometer is a rating system for which hardness is determined. The higher the number, the harder the “thane” 70D is harder, a bit more responsive and designed for sliding more efficiently on rough terrain. 60D is the softer of the two, but, I wouldn’t call them soft by any means. They a are slightly more grippy and although they will perform well on rough surfaces too, these were designed with smooth surfaces in mind.
the wheels are packed in this a little Joycult bag. Looks dope. A little bit like a treasure.
Matt wrote me in the middle of the night a message on Instagram. He just send me a coupon code for his webshop and I could pick whatever I want. I just felt like a kid in a candy store. This was just mindblowing. The stock was on and it was really hard to decide between all these awesome wheels. The only thing he said at all was “You are WAY overdue Martin ❤️”. Man, juste freakin awesome. So I picked what I want.
At the end this letter took ages. After receiving the tracking number in august and watching the letter in the tracking flying to Germany, the german customs needed more than a month to check this package. Thanks for nothing german customs! It finally arrived at my placed something about two weeks ago. Finally!

Product Blog: Darkwood Fingerboards – 90th wheels

Hello fingerboarders from all over the world! Say “HI!” to fingerboarding in Russia again!
It seems like fingerboarding in Russia too and it´s getting bigger and bigger. You still see a lot of new videos on YouTube of people you haven´t seen before and on instagram are even more russian fingerboard brands. So hopefully there is a growing scene in Russia, not only because of Corona. Every time I check out the ProFB shop website I see a lot of great products made by brands from Russia. Too bad I don´t understand the language on so many russian fingerboard websites.
So this is not the first time for russian fingerboard products here on fingerboardTV. The last time I´ve featured Darkwood Fingerboards on this site was with some really nice fingerboard deck. Since Darkwood is an evolving fingerboard company there are now fingerboard wheels available too.
And today we will take a look at some really modern wheels: 90th fingerboarding wheels! A little back to the future vibe is floating around us. So let´s have a look at these greeeeeeen wheels:

Talking about modern fingerboarding and 90th wheels!? Well, yes. In the 90th really small wheels were hip. Super baggy clothes and just super small wheels. And like every trend is coming back some years later, it´s the same with these wheels. 90th wheels are hot and these wheels are getting more and more popular in the fingerboard scene. Darkwood Fingerboards is not the only brand to offer wheels in this size.
The wheels are about 6.3x5mm big. and with this size and this shape of the wheels you get true 90th feelings. These wheels are professional urethane fingerboard wheels. They creak realistically on wood, concrete and stone. Equipped with ABEC7 bearings you ride smoothly on all surfaces. The wheels fit to Brr, Ytrucks and Dynamics. Product Blog: Blackriver-Fingerboards – Ruben Young Pro

Pop – Flip – Catch – Smile – That might be the slogan behind this fingerboard deck.
Happy Halloween and welcome to a new product blog right here on fingerboardTV. It´s sunday right after the Halloween night and today we will take a look at the new Ruben Young PRO fingerboard deck. His last PRO deck was released at Berlinwood and as the most of you probably know, Blackriver-Ramps is not only distributing Berlinwood Fingerboards anymore, they created their own label and dropped Blackriver-Fingerboards to the market as an addition to the normal product range of the webshop.
So today we will check out one of the first new Blackriver-Fingerboards, made by Blackriver-Ramps:
Shape:
This deck is about 33,3mm wide and the shape is called the classic shape. You will recognize it from the classic shape from Berlinwood. It´s just the same. You don´t need to improve everything since Berlinwood offers a lot different shapes and Blackriver-Fingerboards only offer the classic shape at the moment.
A sepcial thing on these decks? The 7-ply powerpop contruction. What does that mean? Well, other fingerboard decks are made with 5 plies. This one is made from 7 plies. This should improve your POP and makes the deck “stronger”. When you take the deck out of the package and start checking it out you will really notice, that this deck is stronger. It´s not that flexi and soft if you try to warp the deck, it´s much stronger.
Many fingerboard companies released special editions of 7/9 ply fingerboards in the past. But there was no brand to bring these out “mass-produced” before. So thats something special.

Such a 7ply Blackriver Board will noticeably improve your pop. After days in the secret research laboratory and further weeks of crash tests, Blackriver can proudly present the 7ply powerpop construction. Due to the improved board strength not only your kickflips will be over the roof. A strong deck with lots of POP. You won´t notive the two extra plies in terms of the weight of this deck. The only thing you notice is the colorful arrangement of plies when you check out the deck from the side. The deck looks a little bit thicker than other, but thats just because of the sanding of the deck. The edges are sanded perfect at all, but these are not as round as some other companies to it. So don´t worry, that not a thick piece of ham, everything is fine with the thickness of the deck.
Let´s talk about the package. It´s the classic Blackriver box with the black inlay. Ya all know my opinion that a good fingerboard doesn´t need a big package. Just because of saving us from garbage everywhere you can. But I accept the point, that the kids love fancy packages and thats the reason why these decks are packed like this. And for sure looks a fingerboard in such a package more professional and significant. But I remember that Denise and Martin love our planet as much as I do and probably they will change the package in future!? I would really appreciate it.
So this is a new Blackriver-Fingerboard. What to tell about the quality and the craftsmanship? I never had a product from Blackriver with a bad craftsmanship at all. So I felt certain that even the new decks are well done as well. And yes, it is. The deck isn´t warped, the sanding is done correct, the graphic is clean and shape and the countersinks are straight and clean drilled. The graphic is made as a realwear graphic with transparent parts so the Ruben YOung pro will look different with every wooden bottom ply. Many many many combinations are possible.
If you don´t like this graphic and just want to get something more like a classic Blackriver graphic, just check out the webshop. Many graphics are available on Blackriver-Fingerboards.
