Welcome back to a new product blog right here on fingerboardTV. Hopefully you guys survived christmas.
Today we will take a trip to Canada. So far away from Germany? In these days only virtual travel are allowed. Hello Brantford!
And if you hear Brantford combined with the word fingerboarding you might know really quick, today we will look at something from Joycult. The last time I had some Joycults in my hand was in 2017. Back then it was a set of Skyrocks. Today we have 2020, so there is a shit load of time between the last Joycult product blog and the prodcut blog I did in the past couple of weeks. Matt took many steps of evolution with Joycult and today we will look at some of his latest creations: O.G XL Pank – 60D:

So what to tell you about these wheels?
In 2014 the Joycult O.G came into fruition and carried itself to 2018 when the methods of production became a bit outdated and new technologies had become available. Now, in 2020, the Joycult O.G is BACK and better than ever! Made to the same spec as the 2015 flagship with the only upgrade being a tried and true locked bearing system. Same world class formula, still made 100% by hand in Canada with Premium Domestic Ingredients.
The color is pank. Some kind of light pink. The shape is clean and sharp like a knife. Well done! a great further development for these wheels.
These wheels are 60D wheels with a single bearing inside. Durometer is a rating system for which hardness is determined. The higher the number, the harder the “thane” 70D is harder, a bit more responsive and designed for sliding more efficiently on rough terrain. 60D is the softer of the two, but, I wouldn’t call them soft by any means. They a are slightly more grippy and although they will perform well on rough surfaces too, these were designed with smooth surfaces in mind.
All Joycult wheels are packed in this a little Joycult bag. Looks dope and a little bit like a treasure.
Matt wrote me in the middle of the night a message on Instagram. He just send me a coupon code for his webshop and I could pick whatever I want. I just felt like a kid in a candy store. This was just mindblowing. The stock was on and it was really hard to decide between all these awesome wheels. The only thing he said at all was “You are WAY overdue Martin ❤️”. Man, juste freakin awesome. So I picked what I want.
At the end this letter took ages. After receiving the tracking number in august and watching the letter in the tracking flying to Germany, the german customs needed more than a month to check this package. Thanks for nothing german customs! It finally arrived at my placed something about two weeks ago. Finally!

Product Blog: Pocket-Rails – Pocket Rail + Extension

You might think, how could a rail be “something new” or a “gamechanger”? You are maybe right. A rail/flatbar is a classic fingerboard an skate obstacle. Nothing special, right? Well, let´s see.
I´m in contact with Dennis for a couple of years now. Dennis is the head behind Pocket-Rails. This brand is based in Deggendorf, Germany. But wait, Dennis is not unknown to the fingerboard scene and this is not his first pitch. Dennis is also the founder behind Fingerboard-Molds. Shame on you if you haven´t heard about Fingerboard-Molds up to know. Check out the website or read my product blog about a fingerboard custom mold. Dennis offers at Fingerboard-Molds not only molds for decks, you can buy great molds for concrete and create your own ramps. But today we´re not talking about Dennis first project, we will take a look at the new one.
This shit is hot! The impact on Instagram was already huge. Consider me as fan! First up, you know my opinion about waste and packaging you don´t need. In this special case, we really need to take a look at the package.
If you order a rail at Pocket-Rail, you get such a box:
This box is crazy. It closes with integrated magnets. Everything fits perfect and to be honest, this package is the most highclass package I´ve ever seen. You are on a top level like Apple and other huge brands. This is just crazy crazy crazy how high-grade the box is. And not only this box is a high-grad product, let´s check out what´s inside:
Let´s say: the heat is on. This box and the full packaging on this product is a masterpiece. High-grade, super professional, just crazy. BUT, to be honest, it´s a crazy and mindblowing box and a highclass product needs a highclass box but at the end of the day you won´t need it for the product. I will keep the box and storage something else in it instead of throwing it in the garbage, just because it´s such a crazy good thing. Normally I don´t do something like this, but in this case it´s just worth it.

But today we will take a look at the product itself and not at the box. So let´s check out what´s inside:
This fingerboard rail is made from different pieces and everything is modular. That means, you can change every part of this rail, you could create a low or high rail, you could add on a kink or just make it longer. Whatever you want ist possible. To set up this basic rail you take the allenkey out of the box, thighten the legs and connect the rail (screwless) with the connector. That´s it and you are ready to ride. The connector holds the rail together. The connection is super strong and stable:
As I said, this rail is based on a modular system. Dennis sents me a extension for this rail to make it longer. Just put that piece in the rail, again screwless with the connector within seconds and here we go:
And again, everything fits perfect, now you have a longer rail than before. Easy to use for just everyone.this is the skate and create thought in shape of a flatrail.

I´m just in love with this rail. The height and length is perfect and it´s now an inherent part of my desk. The premium steel has a super nice finish and super clean sound. Equipped with non sliders for sure. Super well done, Dennis! As I said, consider me as fan!
Why could this Pocket-Rail be something for you?
As some of you might know, I´ve filmed my latest videos on the streets. Hitting the streets is some sort of pure fingerboarding everywhere you go. And now you could have your skatespot in your pocket. If the rail isn´t mounted, it isn´t bigger as a wallet at all. And even if you´re not a big fan of outdoor fingerboarding. Think about going to holidays with your parents. You can´t carry big ramps of something made from concrete in you suitcase. This thing is the always available rail!
