FBTV Interview – Peter Ringel0

February 14, 2011 by MartinB. | 7:34 am

Hello Peter! Tell us about who you are, where you are from and what’s your daily business.

Hi, my name is Peter Ringel, i’m from a small village near Mainz, Germany and right now i’m doing an internship at Blackriver-ramps!

How did you get in touch with fingerboarding?

I started in 2003, when i got a techdeck for my birthday. Shortly after i was making my own ramps and in 2004 when i discovered that BerlinWood was making wooden decks, i decided to give it a go myself. I went to the first event in 2006, the Stabilo Demo in Karlsruhe. That was the first time i saw fingerboarding other than in the internet! By then i was also totally hooked on deck making and other deck brands who were pushing the limits like BerlinWood, Shortwood and Fava inspired me to get even more creative, eventually ending up in me making metal bottom and metal heart decks.

Whats your current setup?

I switch my set-ups A LOT, because i want to try something new all the time or because i want to test a new deck i just made myself. At the moment I’m riding a NoComply M2, BerlinWood 32mm and Prete ‘Acumen’, all with BRT’s, ST Quarts/ WW’s and fingerboardstore Extra Smooth!

What is your favorite trick?

Every trick that gets me fame, money and b*tches :D!

Do you have any favorite rider or a video that influenced you?

I guess a lot of riders and videos influenced me.. I never skateboarded, so i learned all my tricks by watching fingerboard videos or trying to imitate tricks from other riders at events! Thats probably the reason i can only name half the tricks i can actually do haha.

Which fingerboard experience you liked the most (contest/jam/session)?

My favourite contests were definitely ShitHessens 1&2, session wise the ‘Weiss Wurst Iss Jams’ Martin Winkler organizes during the summer. But so far, every event I have been to i left with a great feeling, so BATH, ASI Berlin and all the Wiesbaden Jams should be in there too!
Fun fact: I’ve spent in total 3 whole month at Schwarzenbach aka Blackriver City, but never been to a single fast fingers ;)!

And finally do you want to thank someone?

I want to thank everyone who would be pissed off if i didn’t thank them right now :D and i want to give a little shout-out to Katha at FBS, the SHH/Wiesbaden crew and everyone at BRR who is making my current stay there to amazing :)!

And of course thank to you guys at FingerboardTV for the interview!

THX Peter!
