FBTV Interview – Harry Yeates2

December 9, 2010 by MartinB. | 8:52 am

Hello Harry! Tell us about who you are, where you from and what’s your
daily business?

My name is Harry Yeates, I’m 13 years old, I live in Manchester,
England and I love to fingerboard! Currently unsponsored but run a big
media team called “Cyclone Media”!

How do you get in touch with fingerboarding?

Well, back in the day, I LOVED skateboarding. It was the only thing
that we used to do, me and my friends. When we were out of ideas or
bored, we would just skate! Then on Christmas Day 2001, I received my
first ever
“Tech Deck” from my Uncle. And ever since then, I have been obsessed
with fingerboarding. I looked it up online a few years later when
YouTube was launched, and realized how big this “little” hobby was.
Then in 2009, I
launched my YouTube channel and began to join in with the rest of the
scene! Then shortly after that, received my first ever wooden deck, a
Close Up G2 Complete.

What’s your current setup?

FlatFace G12 Deck, Nollie Wheels Little Monsters, Spinal Wide
Greens, Dynamite Bushings and Washers.

What is your favorite trick?

Nollie Hardflip. Simple, but effective.

Do you have any favorite rider or a video that influenced you?

Eddie Sharples. In my opinion, the best fingerboarder that lives,
and one of the nicest people I have ever come to meet. His style is
unique, and he really has done a lot for the scene. Props to you Eddie
if you’re reading this!

Which fingerboard experience you liked the most (contest/jam/session)?

A little event hosted by Sam Jamil back in January called “United
Kingdom Rendezvous 2″. Meeting all those great people, fans and more
and doing what we love, fingerboarding. Unfortunately, Sam doesn’t
fingerboard anymore, but he can still live on for what he did on that
great day…

And finally do you want to thank someone?

Kerry over at Unite-Fingerboarding, for inspiring me, supporting me,
and running one of the best sites out there. Thanks Kerry for
everything you’ve done!
