If you talk about Portland nearly everybody knows about the Portland Trail Blazers and the world famous Burnside skatepark. But that’s not everything in Portland. This city is in the northwest of the USA and since a few years this city is known for great fingerboards made by Binh. The brand is called Subliminal.
But let us have a look at the package first. Fingerboarder are always anxious to create a “product” which is as realistic as possible compared to a real skateboard. And Subliminal did the job just right! Many brands got very creative packing for their fingerboards. Don´t get me wrong, this is awesome, but it´s not realistic compared to a skateboard. Subliminal wraps in a thin sheet of foil, exactly like a real skateboard brand:
So simple, so awesome? Packaging on point! I´m not a fan of loads of plastic garbage and garbage in general. This foil is made from plastic, right, but its less plastic than on many other fingerboard packaging. So that’s a +++
But now let’s have a look at a brand new, tight and awesome fingerboard deck from Subliminal:

These decks are available in a rustic and a modern width. Rustic means 33mm and modern 33.3mm. The magic number, huh!? The shape is a mixture between high and medium.

When you unwrap this deck you get the smell of the fine lacquer into your nose. It´s shiny as fuck and just perfect. The graphic print in the middle of the deck is super high quality for a real wear graphic. It´s way more detailed than many many other real wears = damn good job. This graphic is called “Clarity” and in my opinion it´s the classic Subliminal graphic. I´ve seen this a lot on instagram and I really like the combination of these soft colors.
As I told you so, the shape is a mixture between high and medium. This shape is really not a lowshape. Together with the kicks this deck brings it down to a round figure. The holes are drilled perfect into the wood and the sanding is perfect. Such an amazing craftsmanship!
