At the ASI Berlin contest this year I came in touch with some fingerboarders from Russia I did not know before. We were talking about the scene in Russia and I told about my thoughts, that the scene in Russia is growing fast at the moment because there are new companies, events and you see a lot more output from russian riders on the internet. I would say that 2018 is the year of Russia in terms of fingerboarding. The scene over there is growing and it´s growing fast. 2018? Russia? The next big thing? Well, probably YES! The reason for this is the dedication of a lot of old and trusted Russian companies who organized events and running webshops. The build the road for some new companies from Russia hitting the scene.
So how did I get in contact with ART Fingerboards? Well, on Instagram, where else :-D ART Fingerboards from Russia was founded in 2017 so I would say it´s a new company hitting the scene. Let´s have a look at a orange mini logo deck from Art right now:
So basic and so clean. The Art logo seems to be handpainted on the deck. This makes every ART deck a one of a kind deck.
Shape:
This deck is about 33mm wide. I would consider this shape as a low shape. It is just super clean and the kicks are round like made in heaven. On the top ply there is another handpainted ART logo. The length of such a deck is 110mm.

This deck is just clean. The plies of this deck are in a super nice orange tone. The color is consitent on the whole ply. The little logo is handpainted on the deck. On the top ply there is another handpainted logo. You could just cover this with your tape or use it for somer super nice rip/griptape art. The whole deck is handcrafted. The edges are perfect round –> great sanding job. The holes are perfect, straight and clean and the countersinks are perfect as well. Somebody know how to work with the right tools over in Russia. The shape is low. It´s low like the Netherlands. I really like low shapes. The kicks on this one are just perfect round. Such a well pressed piece of wood.
The packaging is pretty basic. It´s the classic little plastic bag with some paper. You get a sheet of tape and some stickers with it. Let´s call this the standard fingerboard package.

I´m really looking forward whats coming next at Art Fingerboards. The splitplies on the Instagram page look super sexy, can´t wait to see more. And I´m looking forward to 2019 for an even more growing Russian fingerboard scene. Thanks a looooot for this deck!
