Product Blog: Drissner Decks – Square Split

Today we will take a look at Drissner Decks. Tim, the owner of this brand, is in the german fingerboard scene since forever. Forever means 2006. So yes, it´s some kind like forever. He started making decks in 2008 with some shorter and longer breaks since then. Tim is located in a city called Gießen. Gießen is well known for . . . öhm . . . nothing :-D Jap, just checked it on Google and it´s well know for nothing. Today we will hopefully change that a little bit in the heads of the fingerboard community.
The featured deck is a splitply deck. Different kinds of wood act together and create a suqare in the middle of the deck. The deck was packed in a small little envelope made from paper. No more words needed, check it out:
Shape:
The shape is a new one. Tim offers a old mold and a new mold at the moment. It´s clean, the kicks are nice and well defined and it´s overall crispy. The deck is 34mm wide. There is no name for the mold.
Just check out the well defined kicks. The middle ply is solid blue and I really like the symmetrical plies around this. Well done, 5 plies, you won´t need more.

You might see that I took a lot of images of this deck. As I said in the introduction, this deck is more than photogenic.
I really like the colors of each wooden part and the fact how good they play together. The whole deck looks just like total symbiosis in perfection. Thats just my opinion, I really like the look of it.
The holes look clean and straight. The countersinks too. Tim is an honest guy and told me, that he had some trougles wih the holes in the past. SInce he´s up with the second mold, everything will be done with digital precision. So Tim steps up the fingerboard game and is doing better and better and better fingerboards.
On the top ply you will find the Drissner logo painted in blue. It´s like the same color like the middle ply of the deck. Well matching.
How to order? If you don´t know it the Drissner Instagram site up to now: @drissnerdecks_fb just follow it. Tim told me I don´t need to hurry with posting these decks (a second product blog will follow soon). Why not to hurry? Well, there is not a classic webshop and the decks are not “always in stock”. Tim is working with smaller stocks and you could order them on Instagram and buy them in the ASI Berlin Store.
