Product Blog: ROOL Wheels – Sparkling

February 9, 2017 by MartinB. | 5:40 pm

Last week I´ve received a letter from the german customs. The letter was a notification that a package from Indonesia is waiting for me at the customs. Every time I get such a letter I need a really good story, why this package is a gift and I don´t have any bill or something.

This is the reason why I mostly say, handwritten messages in the package make the story more easy for me :-D

Well the package was sent by Planktoon. I´ve opened it at the customs office, so this was the reason why there was no livestream unboxing on the @fingerboardTV instagram channel. Next time I should do this even at the customs office :-D

Well, let’s start with item number one of this package. The first part is a set of the new “sparkling” wheels from ROOL Wheels. Check them out:

Small wheels with some kind of round shape.

And one more:

ROOL Wheels - Glitter

This set of Rool Wheels is a set of single bearing wheels for your fingerboard. The size of the wheels is small and the cut of the wheels is really round. You got the basic chocolate color with some glitter on the front. The wheelsystem is the centralized single bearing system and the wheels are made of the finest indonesian urethane.

The wheels fit perfect on Blackriver and Rebirth ONE trucks. For other trucks like TOP Trucks, RB-Z and YTrucks you need extender to use these wheels. You can get awesome extender at fingerboardstore.de: Click!

The wheels are available now at the Planktoon webshop: Click!

If you don´t like this colorway there are a huge load of other colors available. So you can get the urethane wheel color of your dreams!

THX a lot for the support again. And even more THX for the support you guys give to the Indonesian fingerboard scene. I really respect the work you do for your country.

As always, all the images are hosted on my flickr: Click!

Product Blog: Hütte 35 – Handpainted Cruiser Deck

February 7, 2017 by MartinB. | 6:23 pm

Some days ago I´ve received a message from Jakob on facebook. He asked me if I would like to do a review about one of his Hütte 35 decks. I said yes and one day later (shipping in Germany) I´ve received a package from him.

In the package was a handpainted cruiser deck. I´ve checked the Hütte 35 Instagram page (@huette35) and the artwork on the deck was made by Jakob´s girlfriend. So let’s have a look at a nice handpainted cruiser deck:

Hütte 35 - Handpainted Cruiser Deck

Shape:

Hütte 35 - Handpainted Cruiser Deck

The shape is a deep, well defined shape. I really like flat shapes on normal fingerboards, but in my opinion cruiser and oldschool decks should have a deep shape. You need a deep shape to handle bowls and other “hard to ride” spots.

And one more:

Hütte 35 - Handpainted Cruiser Deck

Hütte 35 is a one fingerboarder company from Germany. Jakob makes all the decks by hand. Ok, this time his girlfriend did the artwork. Everything else is made by him. I really like the deep brown wood and the owl on the bottom ply. The deck is overall really artsy and well done. Jakob got a lot one of a kind decks on his instagram acount. Go and show some love @huette35 ! There is a facebook page too: Click!

The last few weeks got more and more back in the days vibes. The scene is getting smaller again and back in the days there were “hundreds” of german deckmaker. I think small companies like Hütte 35 still got that vibe. Like the time before the first big boom hits the fingerboard scene. I really appreciate the work the “one man shows” do for fingerboarding even as the big companies contribution to the scene. The scene needs ya all!

Now! Go and check out Hütte on instagram and show some love. Or order something. Or order something and show some love. Or show some love and order something. No matter what you do, it only takes a few seconds and keeps the scene vivid aaaaaand Jakob will have fun reading your comments and getting some new followers and likes.

Thx a lot Jakob for this deck! Keep this going!

Product Blog: Joycult – Skyrocks 60D

February 6, 2017 by MartinB. | 6:27 pm

First of all: you should get a set of Joycult Wheels!

Some more days ago I´ve received a really surprising little package. A letter from Matt! Matt is the owner of Joycult Wheels from Canada. As some of you have seen at the unboxing on the livestream on the fingerboardTV instagram account, in the package there was a set of the brand new Joycult “Skyrocks”. Vecause of the super dope mega colorway, the Skyrocks are some kind of unofficial fingerboardTV edition ;-) Check them ooooouuuut:

“Joycult wheels are handmade in Brantford Ontario Canada by Matt Watkinson. From face to bearing, duro to duro, Joycult wheels are designed to handle all terrains. Durometer is a rating system for which hardness is determined. The higher the number, the harder the “thane”. 70D is harder, a bit more responsive and designed for sliding more efficiently on rough terrain. 60D is the softer of the two, but, I wouldn’t call them soft by any means. They a are slightly more grippy and although they will perform well on rough surfaces too, these were designed with smooth surfaces in mind. Joycult Urethane has been carefully formulated and perfected to create a truly unique feeling under your fingers.”

What could I tell you about the wheels? The wheels look perfect. You really feel the softness and they fit on YTrucks and even on Blackriver-Trucks without glue (single bearing). Joycult 60D´s are grippy and perform great on every surface. You should get a set!

You´re interested in Joycult for sure now, huh!? Check out the social media attack:

Instagram: @joycult
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/joycultwheels
Website: http://www.joycultwheels.com/

I´m really sorry to say, at the moment the wheels are totally sold out at the Joycult webstore. The next stock will be announced on this site for sure. Just to make sure you really want to get such a dope set of wheels, watch this video:

Best fingerboard video of 2017!?

Joycult is here to contribute to the community by offering something unique and new to fingerboarders everywhere. The wheels themselves have a feel unlike any other. And with the added selection of durometer and premium colours, Joycult wheels are truly made for fingerboarders, by fingerboarders. Support Matt, support fingerboarding in Canada and support fingerboarding worldwide!

THX Matt! :-*
