FBTV Interview – Philipp Reinhard0

December 22, 2010 by MartinB. | 8:05 am

Hello Phili ! Tell us about who you are, where you from and whats your daily business.

Hey Martin, I´m Philipp Reinhard but better known as Phili. I´m 20 years old and I´m living in Stuttgart right now under weeks and stay at home at the weekends in Bad Mergentheim.
I´m working for a german Skateboard Magazine called PLACE right now as a skateboard filmer and editor. I have to be in office to edit and capture all the footage from the days before and after we just go filming and try to collect as much as good footage we could get at one day. And after I´ll start studying also in Stuttgart.

How do you get in touch with fingerboarding?

Puuuh, that´s more than 7 years ago. A friend of mine had an old Tech Deck. We were all stoked that he can do kickflips, treflips and some shovits…I tried to get also a Tech deck but there was no chance. So, we started to make our own boards with carton and some sticky tape for tail and nose shaping..haha…We made all the tricks like in “Fingers of Fury” just with pressure. A couple weeks after a shop near us got some DRAGON BALL Z Fingerboards…We tuned it with Skateboard-Griptape, new graphics, oiled wheels and some selfmade bushings and painted trucks.

Whats your current setup?

Normally a Berlin Wood 31mm with Blackriver Trucks, some Winklers and Extra-Smooth Tape or Brr-Tape.

What is your favorite trick?

Sw Hardflip variations, Nollie Flip, Sw Heelflip and Bs Tails/Bs Smithgrinds…and some stuff like wallrides, polegrinds…

Do you have any favorite rider or a video that influenced you?

I have a lot of favorite riders. All the guys I hang out on contests and jams ´cause they know what fingerboarding is about…
And Pissing Fingers 1 for sure…I watched it probably 10000000000 times…haha…true story!
But after time you should try to like your own type of style, or should work for it.

Which fingerboard experience you liked the most (contest/jam/session)?

For sure Young and Free in 2005. Just hanging around, Fingerboarding with your mates, the sun and a lot of fun. 2 days just filled with it.
Also the fingaspektakel 2009 because of the atmosphere, the fingerboarders and all the good vibrations. Or the ISPO 2010 in Munic. My flat was a hotel for more than a week. big ass fun. Beside, Jams and Contests are every time funny.
And I have also to add the 1. International Independent FingerFilmFest, amazing weekend! No one was stressed cause of his run, the judging or some other shit. Everybody was relaxed and just enjoyed the atmosphere. Bowl riding at it´s best, talking, drinking, party. Everything what a good weekend needs. We had the best sessions for so long. So much good memories.

You were the last years at so much Events, what happend this year to you?

Puh, too much bad luck.

At the Fast Fingers II was on an european Skatetour as a filmer and missed the Fast Fingers just because of bad planing. It was planed that I could be there, but there was a fail. We left germany at saturday morning, one day too early. The team mananger missed the first stop while planing the tour.
I also missed the Kassel Ost Bowlmasters, because my driver from a travel portal told me on friday morning that he will cancel his trip to Kassel. So, I was lost, too less time ant the train was too expensive. Asi-Berlin etc…stupid bad luck, hopefully that there will be next year a way more Events I will visit, for sure :)
I traveled beside the big Events this summer a lot with TX-Sports from Nuernberg. There were seven tour stops in whole germany in seven weekends. Kai (Dörfler) and me had there a lot of good times with all the guys we hang around there. Some of these guys came to almost every stop, soo good!

And what have you done with TX-Sports at these weekends?

We made a small contest-series with two Blackriver-Parks.
I filmed there for a Podcast, you have probably seen on FingerboardTV and we tried to get fingerboarding more popular.
We had some interviews for newspapers, and filmed some tricks for TV. Shown tricks to the kids, and played 2374982 times Game of S-K-A-T-E.

And finally do you want to thank someone?

Ye, Winkler (Wheels), all the guys at Blackriver, the TX-SPORTS CREW, the whole Gripskin crowd, FingerboardTV, and the guys I don´t named should know that I thank them!

THX Phili!

FBTV Interview – David Wagner0

December 20, 2010 by MartinB. | 1:50 pm

Hello David! Tell us about who you are, where you from and whats your daily business.

Hi, I’m David Wagner, 20 years old and I live in a small beach village near to the danish border and only 5-10 minutes to Flensburg, Germany. I’m an Electronics technician for devices and systems and actually I’m going one year to an technician grammar school to receive the “Fachhochschulreife”. But I really don’t know what I want to do after this school year. In my spare time most of it it’s all about fingerboarding between school homework. I’m really interested in fingerboard news (events, new hardware, people..). I’ve collected a lot of fingerboard stuff (Actually I want to quit this collector addiction, but I don’t want to quit fingerboarding…!). I like to travel around germany with friends to different fingerboard events, doing sessions and stuff like this and actually I’m interested to built own wooden fingerboard decks. In addition I enjoy to show kids in the youth center what Fingerboarding is and I give them tips with mounting a deck, tricks or building their own wooden fingerboard decks. In my other non fingerboard spare time I enjoy cycling, playing Xbox games, listen to music (Rap) or hanging around at the beach and sometimes I play miniature golf.

How do you get in touch with fingerboarding?

The first time I heard something about a fingerboard was 2002 through the Comic Magazine “Mickey Mouse”. It comes with a cheap plastic fingerboard. I played with it and maybe one week later the fingerboard was thrown into the corner. In August 2003 some classmates comes with their fingerboard to the school and from this point on I was interested in Fingerboarding. I search after my old “Mickey Mouse” Setup and was doing some tricks, but I don’t realize that it is possible to do the same tricks like a skateboarder. At the 5th June 2004 I was on a local youth event called “X-Games” with breakdance, streetball, BMX and skatecontest. This was the first time I saw a Blackriver Ramps G3 Park. I was surprised that it is possible to do Ollies and all these kind of skateboardtricks on a a fingerboard just without pain when you fall of a real skatedeck =) From this time I was more and more interested in fingerboarding. I bought a Powell Tech Deck G9 with green trucks at the Local Skateshop Caramba. After I have learned the first basic tricks like the Ollie I bought a darkgreen 26 mm Berlin Wood Regular Flat Shape. Through the packaging of the deck with printed links I discovered the online scene (fingerskating.de, blackriver-ramps.de, …) and I found the german fingerboard forum. I attend to a Fingerboard contest in Flensburg organized by Stöpsel and Thomas Hansen and travel to the first jams and contests like the Pottjam or Astrajam in Hamburg (organized by Vincent Heppner) and as you can see I’m still active in Fingerboarding, because I enjoy the scene and like all about fingerboarding.

Whats your current setup?

My current setup is a 29mm Selfmade Deck with red painted mapleveener, Ytrucks Silver X1 with autoblock nuts and Substance Quartz Twin Ytrucks Style (I really enjoy these wheels, because they are out of the good old winkler wheels material, but with much more improved technology)

What is your favorite trick?

All kind of Impossible Stuff, but also basic kickflip/shuv it to grind/slide tricks and Backflips/360 Spins =) !

Do you have any favorite rider or a video that influenced you?

Pissing Fingers! I bought it 2004 at the local skateshop and watched it more than 10 times. I could watch it again and again. It is also cool to see that many of the riders from the Pissing Fingers Videos are still active. My favorite riders are Dimitri Schlotthauer, Petr Ptacek and Jeldo Ulpts, because they got a lot of skill and consistency. But there are a lot of more great fingerboard rider around the world I like, because of their personality – not even because they got skill or sponsorships.

Which fingerboard experience you liked the most (contest/jam/session)?

Big contests like Fast Fingers are cool, because you can meet the whole scene, but I prefer small sessions or jams with little contests for example the Pottjam (organized by Flaki), the Kassel Ost Bowlmasters or the WWIJ (Weiss Wurst Iss Jam), because there weren’t too much people at one place and the atmosphere is more relaxing.

And finally do you want to thank someone?

I want to thank especially FingerboardTV (Martin & Stegen) for this awesome project. FingerboardTV has become my favorite web page and I’m proud to have an interview right here. I hope there will come some more FBTV video interviews. Greetings and thanks goes out to Jan Kröger & Körner, Marvis, Christian and all the other FLFB’s (You Know Who U Are!), Fingerboard.de Team, Blackriver, Gretel from Big Beudl Fingerboardstyle, Anton, Jerômé, “The Riddler”, Petr and the Big Construction guys and all other supporters and sponsors from the Wikingercup, Danjo, Hansen, Stöpsel, Vince, Tim Pütz, Flaki and all those other NWDC guys, the Jeldo Gang (aka Adrian, Diego, …), the PoP Decks guys, Justin, Niklas and all other true hearted fingerboarder out there!

THX David!

FBTV Interview – Adrian Witzel0

October 29, 2010 by MartinB. | 10:20 am

Hello Adrian! Tell us about who you are, where you’re from and what’s your daily business.

Hey, I’m Adrian and I’m 17 years old. I live in Bochum, Germany, where I’m going to school and will have my graduation in one year. As I am on holiday at the moment, I hang around a lot or go meet my friends. I like travelling …and I got around a lot. I also love to play the guitar, to cut and edit videos, I like to build ramps for my park, longboarding, painting or just something that has to do with art. Last but not least: I love to fingerboard whenever I can!

How did you get in touch with fingerboarding?

I guess my cousin showed me how to fingerboard around 6 years ago or something. So, yeah, that was the moment I started fingerboarding. And as you can see I’m still doin’ that shit, it is lot of fun! : )
Every now and then, i discover new sides of fingerboarding and I would declare it as my lifestyle! For me, Fingerboarding is also a way, to be creative!

What’s your current setup?

My current Setup is a 32mm/flatshape Berlin Wood (red wood/ Brr-Skull branding/ plies: grey, yellow, purple, blank, red) with red Blackriver Trucks (+ auto block nuts) and Winkler Wheels BRR edition.

What is your favorite trick?

I don’t really have a favourite trick, but at the moment I like to pull some No-Comply FS Shove-its, Switch 360 BS Pop Shove-its, Inward Heelflips, Bodyvarial stuff, Switch Bigger Bigspins and some nicely catched Nollie Flips.
Nosebonks (Nollie Shove-its out) are steezy, too ^^.

Do you have any favorite rider or a video that influenced you?

Hmm, I really appreciate the style of DRex and I also like Julien’s and Nic’s type of Style/way to ride or Winklers Vert-skills, but I don’t want to copy any of them … so nobody influenced me – they just inspired me. I want to have a unique own style!

Which fingerboard experience did you like best? (contest/jam/session)?

Blackriver 10 years Party, or just any party/event/jam in Wunsiedel. Wunsiedel is so beautiful and the best place to chill and to have fun!
I also liked the Kasselostbowlmasters, ‘cause the guys in Kassel are so nice and welcoming! It’s always a bit of magic in the air when you have a session in the woods of Kassel!

And finally, do you want to thank someone?

Yeah why not! First of all I want to thank the whole Blackriver Team for all the support; and than I say ‘’thanks’’ to all fingerboarders outside there, who are making the whole fingerboarding-thing, the way it is today.

Go outside and skate a real FINGERBOARD.

THX Adrian!
