Product Blog: NURME FIngerboards – Graphic Deck
March 16, 2018 by MartinB. | 2:57 pm
In the history of fingerboardTV I´ve presented a lot of new brands to the fingerboard scene. Some of them were younger than one year or something. But today I will present the youngest company in the history of fingerboardTV to you: NURME Fingerboards.
NURME Fingerboards was founded in january 2018 by Riho and Karl. The company is based in Estonia, which is a premiere at fingerboardTV as well. These are the first ever fingerboard decks I got my hands on from Estonia. The capital of Estonia is Tallinn and this is where Riho and Karl live. So lets say HI! to all the fingerboarders from Estonia! I didn´t know that there is a scene. Fingerboarding worldwide –> this is just great!
I got in contact with Riho and he asked me on my opinion about his decks. He sents me two of them and today I will show you some nice graphic deck:
Shape:
The shape is well defined and symetric featuring a medium concave and kicks in 34mm width. The decks are pressed in a handmade mold.

And one more:
Up to now a NURME deck comes without any fancy packaging or stickers or something. The reason is, NURME is a really low budget company at the moment. But I´ve seen some more progress on the Nurme insta page so probably the decks have a package now!? All the money of sold decks will be invested in stickers, packagages and other goodies. But you guys probably know my opinion: a good fingerboard doesn´t need any sort of packaging. The plastic and paper you use for a package are garbage after opening the deck and we have enough garbage on this planet. So in my opinion all the companies should step back from huge boxes and stuff like this.
Riho is using a handmade mold at the moment. The shape of the deck is symetric and well defined, the deck isn´t warped or something like this. The decks are super thin. Riho told me that the reason for this is that he is using strong epoxy instead of woodglue. Probably these thinner decks are stronger and lighter. The holes are clean and straight and all the edges of the decks are perfect round. It´s hard to believe that this company was founded in january. I´ve seen a lot decks in my fingerboarding life and some of the bigger companies do not work that clean. The graphic on this deck seems to be a classic paperwork graphic. The colors are solid and the print is clean. In times of hyper science real wear graphics this paperwork needs some improvements, but for such a you company this is a good job.
