Product Blog: Dirty Fingerboards – BRT Dual Conversion Kit

September 10, 2018 by MartinB. | 5:45 pm

It seems to be like that the product we will talk about today was made because a demand by a big part of the fingerboard scene.

I remember when BRT’s came out a few years ago. Lots of BRR riders and friends recieved them on a Fast Fingers and some couple of months later I was able to buy a set of these at the store. These trucks make the whole fingerboard scene scream. For one part of the scene this was the holy grail and the other part of the scene spammed every fingerboard forum because the wheels do not fit, the nuts need to be glued, the wheels slip on the hangar, the axle is loose and a lot more problems. Some generations laters the trucks are updated more than once and I think the most problems are solved.

But wait, one “problem” is still alive!? Some more fingerboard companies produce dual bearing wheels. Since Winklers are only available as a single bearing version, Blackriver made the trucks perfect for these single bearing winklers. If you want to ride wheels with two bearings inside you have to glue the nuts or do whatever you want. It´s your problem. Thats the point where Dirty Fingerboards from the Philippines stepped in the game. Karlo, the owner of Dirty, “invented” a BRT conversion kit. Now it is possible to use dual bearing wheels on your BRT’s. Have a look at the kit:

These axels are made from stainless steel. The nuts on the axles are locknuts.

You´re thinking about: how does converted BRT’s look like? weel, just like normal ones:

The wheels on these hangars are Dirty Fingerboard dual bearing wheels.

As you can see on these images, you won´t see any difference betwen the converted ones and the normal BRT’s. The locknuts work whitout glue and the since these wheels are dual bearing wheels they won´t slip on the hangar forever. This conversion kit gives you a lot more freedom on you setup. So if you like dual bearing wheels and BRT’s, this should be your choice.

Most of you guys have one or more sets of BRT’s at home. So you probably know how easy it is to get out the axle. Just take out the normal one and put this one back in. Thats it. The conversion kits are avaiable in the Dirty Fingerboards webshop right over here: Click! If you´re not looking for such a kit, just browse around in the webshop or hop over to Instagram and check out the Dirty feed: @dirtyfingerboards

A few other Dirty Fingerboards product blogs will follow. Karlo was gentle enough and sents me a huge package :-)
